It’s fun to be thrifty excerpt

This is an excerpt from my chapter in the book titled: It’s fun to be thrifty.

“Did you know that since I became a senior my husband and I do a lot of matinees said Rosy?” She laughed and said to me, “Please get your mind out of the gutter. I am talking about movie matinees. When we do the 11:00 matinee on Wednesday’s, we not only get the movie discount, we get free popcorn with our discount club card. Whoopee.

The only problem with this movie matinee arrangement is we barely get through breakfast and here we are, at the movies eating popcorn. When we step outside after the movie we are blinded by daylight and can hardly find our parked car said Rosy.

You don’t have to be poor to try to find a bargain, however, finding bargains is a trait of lots of 70 year olds, especially the 70 year olds who define themselves as “silent majority” septuagenarians. In fact, some of the people I talked to were very affluent but still sought out a bargain.

If you can think of any “senior” bargains please comment so that I can include them in the “It’s fun being thrifty” chapter of my book titled “Bring It On….We’re in Our 70’s.
