Trump Won and He is a Septuagenarian

If the Donald and Hilary are stranded on a boat in the middle of the ocean, who survives?
This was pretty much the feeling about the 2016 presidential election.

A lot of seniors watched the battle of the presidency between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton – two very flawed candidates who left the country with having to make a choice with their vote for the President of the United States.

When I was with my Democrat friends, I told them I had not made up my mind yet, and when I was with my Republican friends I told them I had not made up my mind yet. It was better than arguing with them. Sometimes I even told the bold truth to my Dem friends – I told them I could never vote for Hillary. All I heard in reply was Trump is dangerous and he is like Hitler and he has no respect for women and it just went on and on ad nausea. Again, I repeat, I told them I could not vote for either Hillary or the Donald but they were not listening. I said I was still going to vote but not for the POTUS. I would vote the rest of the ballot. At least, that is what I thought I was going to do at that time.

So, it got to the point where I had to say that I would not vote for either one of them. Then I got the argument that women fought so hard for the vote that it is not right for you not to vote. Then I said, well, I cannot respect either candidate so I will just see how things are shaking down before I make a final decision of this very important vote.

In fact, I anticipated the last televised presidential debate would help me make my decision who of the two would be worthy of my vote. I got comfy in front of my wide screen TV to watch the debate and I fell asleep and saw none of it. The next morning all I heard about the debate on the TV is that Donald Trump did not commit to accepting the results of the election at this time. No talk at all on on the TV stations about the positions of the candidates on taxes, immigration, jobs etc. Just the fact that Trump will not say for certain that he will accept the results of the election, no matter who wins.

I clearly remember that after that last debate the big topic of discussion was the fact that Donald Trump, when asked if he would honor the results of the vote he said he would not promise to do so. Actually, his exact words were, “I would look at it at the time”. When he was pressed moments later he clarified his thoughts by telling the moderator this: “What I’m saying is that I will tell you at the time. I will keep you in suspense.” And, that about sums it all up folks. Again, I say, no news on what either one of these candidates would do for the country if elected. Just this gobboldy goop about how horrifying Trump was because he made this statement at the end of the debate.

So, after thinking of the final last word about the final debate being whether Trump would accept the results if he did not win I finally got mad that these so called debates were much ado about nothing.

I figured out that a vote for Hillary would mean more of the same of what we got from the Obama administration and that seemed to me to be one of the reasons that I finally decided to vote for Trump. All that talk of him groping for women etc. seemed a bit contrived being that they dragged up a lot of BS that happened way way in the past and actually most of it I found to be irrelevant compared to a lot of what we know that a lot of other presidents have done. In fact, maybe Trump got all of that out of his system during his younger, non political years and that might be a sign of what we might not see during a Trump presidency. Just saying.

I also started to think of what Trump did not do in comparison to the current administration knowing that a vote for Hillary would just continue the current administration. In fact, what he did not do because he has not been an elected official of any kind was probably what finally brought me to vote for him.

Donald Trump did not steal our money by raising our taxes. Donald Trump did not quadruple the price of food nor did he stir up the public in a race war.

Trump did not leave any US soldiers in Benghazi to be slaughtered and desecrated by radical Islamic Muslims. In fact, Hillary, while serving as the Secretary of State at the time of the Benghazi slaughtering blamed the incident on a video that incited the killings. That turned out to be a big Hillary/Obama lie.

Trump did not send the US Navy to fight for Syrian Al-Qaeda. Trump did not arm ISIS who systematically set about exterminating and beheading Christians throughout the Middle East. Trump did not betray Israel, our only true ally in the region.

More on the subject of Trump vs the current administration of which Hillary would be giving the American’s if she were elected. Trump did not provide financing and technology to Iran’s nuclear weapons program. Trump did not give our military secrets to China. Trump did not remove our nuclear missile shield in Poland at the behest of Russia.

Trump did not shrivel our military, and betray our veterans. Trump did not cripple our economy. Trump did not increase our debt to 20 trillion dollars. Trump did not ruin our credit, twice.

Trump did not double African American unemployment. Trump did not increase welfare to a record level for eight years. Trump did not set free most of the terrorists in Guantanamo Bay. And, we have been hearing that a great percentage of the released prisoners from Guantanamo Bay have re-upped with Terrorist groups and have been known to come back at us as a new and improved radical Islamist terrorist.

During the election cycle, Donald Trump was being ripped apart in the news, nonstop. And, have you noticed that Barrack Hussein, Hillary Clinton and the criminals occupying our government, are not being vetted much by the press – unless there is something so blatant that cannot be ignored such as the illegal use of Hillary’s private e-mail server which is in itself against the law.

And, I do not believe Trump has said anything derogatory about law abiding decent hard working Mexicans. He has said what American citizens know to be true that this country needs to close its borders to ILLEGAL Immigration! There is too many crimanals and drugs coming into this country by Illegals crossing the borders. In fact, Trump wants to build a wall to stop the illegals and Hillary wants to bring in 100,000 more illegals into this country.

After thinking of all the things that Trump has not done I thought it just might be refreshing to vote for someone who tells the truth without worrying about being politically correct about every last word that comes out of this mouth or his tweets.

Yep you guessed it, I had made up my mind who I would be voting for and as I knew all along, it would not be Hillary.

After all the media that needed to be filtered into reality I came to the conclusion that Hillary seemed to be more interested in lining her pockets by getting cozy with foreign powers who would contribute massive amounts of money to her husband’s Foundation while all the while I have been reading that only 5.7 percent of the Clinton Foundation budget went to charitable grants.

All kinds of foreign money was going into the Clinton foundation in order to get preferential treatment and access to our government if Hillary got elected. This was a big detriment for me when it came to Hillary. It seemed like she was in politics to line her and her families pockets while Trump had already lined his pockets in the business world long before he ever got into politics. He did not need to lean on this kind of deal making since his pockets were already lined.

As I think back on the election of 2016, I can’t help but mention that a lot of the very same type of shenanigans have crept into local elections. Seems that as a former citizen of Vero Beach Florida, all I am reading about is the fact that Indian River Shores, a neighboring community is not only trying to steal the Electric Utility Customers from the City they are also trying to steal the Vero Beach Election. It appears that the municipality of Indian River Shores has put together their team of candidates and if two of the three of them can get elected to the Vero Beach City Council – voila- they have the three votes to run and control Vero Beach. Scary stuff, my friends, very scary.

So, on a National level and a Local level, the fix is in. It gets harder and harder for anyone to have any faith in elections because it is harder and harder for the average Joe to keep track of all of this, thus these kinds of shenanigans will continue to take place in elections. Nothing is illegal about the Shores having all of this power over the Vero Beach elections because of the PAC money they threw into that election, and it is very much like all the foreign money that goes into our national elections through Political Action Committiees or money that is given to a Foundation like what the Clintons has produced. Yesiree, elections seems to be all a matter of following the money. I guess it was always that way but with the internet and social media being what it is this underbelly of elections are now a bit more transparent to the public and it certainly is ugly to see.

So, when you follow the money on local and national elections you are usually going to be able to understand the outcome. And, as an afterthought since I started this column. Donald J Trump was elected to be POTUS. I guess because he did not need to spend all of the precious campaign time raising money because he already had his own money to back up what he thought he might need to win. Just saying.

One other thing I thought I would mention about the national election is the Las Vegas odds were going for Trump. They were saying this is much like Brixet. In other words, no one expected English voters to exit the EU and they did and that was called Brixit.

If that type of outcome is what Las Vegas is predicting for the National election then I thought, “Why not get on the winning side of this “Bad Choice” of an election”.

I can’t imagine looking back after the loss of your husband, a vet. I thank him for his service.

  3. SilentM says:

Wow, mention you voted for Trump and there goes your followers:) Smurf’em. Trump may be the best thing to happen to this country in a long time. Love the gaffs too, which usually end up much to the chagrin of mediawood, as being true or at least part true. Love it!

Nine months since the Trump has taken office and indeed it has been a roller coaster ride. He’s up, he’s down, and the left is so filled with hate that he can do no good – no matter how good he may be on certain issues.

Having said that – we are all smart enough to know that no one in charge, whether it be a boss, a parent or the President of the United States, could ever please everyone all the time. Issues and crisis come and go on a regular basis but one thing I feel sure about is that the POTUS should always have our back. And that is what brings up the topic of discussion about football players not having respect for the Flag and the National Anthem.

When football players began to kneel during the National Anthem, the president was so outraged that he showed his emotions by saying that the owners of the teams that were doing this disrespectful act should “fire” the sons of bitches. Yep, that’s Trump for you. Give him an opportunity to come out on the right side of an issue and he screws it up by putting his foot in his mouth and swearing. When will this POTUS realize that he MUST temper his typical Queens N.Y. manner of expression?
