Stay tuned for Bea-isms from my new home in Ohio

Bea file photoBelow is a guest commentary that I wrote for with regards to my upcoming move to Ohio….
I am very busy selling my home in Vero and buying a home in Ohio so I will be very spare in my writings on Bea-isms for the next month….If there is anything you would like to post for conversation please feel free to post in the comments column in this article and I will get back to it from time to time. If something mind boggleing happens I am sure one or two of you might just want to comment on this post – for instance…..there are a lot of court dates and hearings coming up pertaining to the shores and the county in their efforts to get nasty with the City of Vero Beach. I will count on you guys to keep yourselves informed or just stay closely tuned into Schumann’s InsideIndianRiver news magazine.

For now, let me just say – Go Bucks.

Now, please read the article below that was posted on January 26 on

Well read blogger, Bea Gardner, to follow local politics from new home in Ohio
by Mark Schumann • Commentary, Indian River County, Vero Beach

“But, most of all I will look forward to the phone calls and e-mails from all of my blogger friends – especially when you call me with a real juicy piece of information relating to something that might turn out to be a good article on Bea-isms.”

I am soon to be a virtual resident of Indian River County.
What does that mean?

The real meaning of the adjective “virtual” is being such in power, force or effect, though not actually being. In other words, I will still be a force in Vero Beach without really being there. Oh, the beauty of technology.
It means I will be writing Bea-isms as though I virtually live right here in Indian River County however, I will be physically living elsewhere.

Due to my husband’s failing health we will be moving from Vero Beach to a suburb of Columbus Ohio called New Albany in order to be closer to the family. Basically, nothing much will change. You can be sure that Bea-isms will continue with only a slight break as I settle into our new digs in Ohio.

Bea-isms will continue to keep you informed about a lot of things that you will not be able to read or learn about in the mainstream press.

Oh, by the way, I use the word mainstream very lightly when referring to the Pee Pee Jay (Press Journal and TC Palm) as I am known to call them. When, IMO, you want the unbiased truth, you will still have to rely on this publication and you will have to wait until I settle in to get back to Bea-isms on a regular basis.

I will miss the occasional coffee chats with a few of my blogger friends but I must confess, most of the time we keep in touch on the phone or by e-mail so, due to today’s instant technology I am sure we will stay in touch in the usual manner. It will not matter whether I am in Vero Beach or Ohio. As I said earlier, I will be writing Bea-isms in my virtual office in Ohio. Thus, I will be, in the real sense of the word, a virtual residence of Vero Beach.

Let me give you an example of why I will continue with Bea-isms. One of my recent articles titled: “please give me 15 minutes of fame” refers to the blatant abuse of taxpayer time that was given to Charlie Wilson so that he could get TV time for free advertising relating to his latest scheme.
One of my bloggers named Joan wrote this in reference to Charlie’s Chamber: Joan said, “After seeing a friends business listed in Charlie’s chamber, I asked her about it…and her words were. What, I never signed up with them. I sure don’t belong to it.”

And to think, Charlie Wilson wants us to believe he has 104 members in his organization. LOL

It is a comment on my blog such as this that makes me want to continue to stay on top of things in order for the public NOT to be fooled by everything they see or read in the mainstream press. In fact, once I am physically absent from the area, I may get the nerve to publish the hate e-mails that I receive from several of the people I blog about. Won’t that be a fun read?

So, my friends, at the end of February my husband Steve and I will be on another adventure in our lives as we trek on back to Ohio. We will be living within three miles of my son and his wife and my other son, though he lives in Miami, has a lot of business interests in Columbus and we are certain that we will see more of him once we move to Ohio. The move will also make Steve’s son more apt to make a visit to Ohio from San Francisco as he too has family ties there. The rest of the family are all within driving distance of our new home – sister, brother and lots of nieces and nephews. In fact, I have already been informed that Thanksgiving dinner will be at my house this year.

I am preparing myself for this leg of my journey as Steve’s caregiver and I look forward to the warmth of our fireplace and the warmth of family during this process.

But, most of all I will look forward to the phone calls and e-mails from all of my blogger friends – especially when you call me with a real juicy piece of information relating to something that might turn out to be a good article on Bea-isms.

Thank you all for your continued support and prayers to Steve during his journey with Alzheimer’s.

Vero’s loss will be Ohio’s gain but you can be sure you will be missed.

Selling and moving is stressful but must doubly be so for a person with Alzheimer’s and the care-giver. That is a cruel illness both for the afflicted person and the family. You can be sure bloggers will keep Steve, you, and your family in their prayers.

  2. Cedric says:

Knowing you as I do ,I know you will not miss a beat once you are settled into your new home. Good luck to both of you.

  3. Bea-isms says:

This is one of many nasty’s that I get from Charlie Wilson…..I actually have him banned from posting on this site so I did a copy and paste.

    From Charlie Wilson:

You announce that you are leaving and only two people give a damn.

Happy trails. This community and indeed this country will be far better off without your negativity.

  4. Cedric says:

Bea, this comment is an example of what we have grown to expect from the likes of Charlie. What you have just written about Upchuck is Upchuck at his best. He should not wonder why he didn’t win a seat on the council and other positions he has run for in the past. He is in reality the poster boy for low class. He should go back to St Lucie County ,but I heard they do not want him.

  5. Bea-isms says:

Most of us know what to expect of Captain Kangaroo as you have said – aka Charlie Wilson.

Seems he got so excited that I will be physically absent from Vero that he failed to read what I was trying to say. So, I’ll say it again, I will continue to write Bea-isms and with gusto after I settle in unless there is something that glares for my attention.

Too bad he can’t even contain himself while I am in the middle of this move.

  6. Cedric says:

Bea, What he has emailed to you is disgusting considering the medical problems you are dealing with. He should be ashamed of himself.

  7. Bea-isms says:

Cedric….I am not dealing with medical problems…it is my husband who has medical problems.

And, this article is all about me so let’s set aside the Charlie Wilson nasty and I will deal with him as the occasion arises in future writings on Bea-isms. And, you can be sure they will arise.

I will be busy for the next month or so but he will get no pass. There are a lot of you out there, including Cedric that have committed to keep me informed so….though I will be out of sight I will not be out of mind.

  8. SilentM says:

Good luck with the move Bea. Best wishes.

    • Bea-isms says:

Thank you Silent. It’s times like this that I wish I knew who you all are since I haven’t got a clue with the name of Silent.

  9. Cedric says:

Bea, I know it is your husband with the medical problems, and you are the one providing love and care.Your friends wish both you and your husband are “Best Wishes”.

    • Bea-isms says:

Thank you Cedric. I thought you knew that.

I am just so nervous over all of this that I tend to forget who knows what.

Selling one house and buying another two days apart is very stressful….especially when everyone says “a deal is not a deal until you have the money” Yep, very stressful…I just keep praying everything will work out.

Or should I say…so far, so good.

Bea I went to VA in WPB on Thursday. While I was there I was told by STAFF THAT they are closing the Mental health crises unit. I SAID i WAS GOING RIGHT UP TO CHARLENE Zaebo ? The executive director of the hospital. I was told that she is the one that is doing it. I have informed Bill O’reilly and also left a message for Mark Schumann. People need to be aware of this. There are many PTSD disabled veterans and It would be nice to know why she would do that and what will the disabled vets do without this service. I told the staff I was going to tell Bill O’reilly. They said Thank you. I was there for Dental. I also want to contact Bill Posey. I would like someone to find out what is going on.
